What?

Searching for the information of toilets, I was really found out many interesting stories about toilets. Toilets were identified as impolite words in some countries; therefore, people in those countries tend to use washroom, bathrooms, restroom, men’s room, or lady’s room in stead of toilets. When people hear of toilets, they will think of these are the place where people excrete. However, in a country, toilets were identified as the best places for women to make up. It is much different than other countries where toilets were used to earn money. Not naming the countries, people have to pay a few cents or even a dollar in order to use the public toilets. Otherwise, the people who enter the toilets without paying were considered as a criminal. Can’t you believe that?

30% urban areas and 1% developing countries people are still act like ancient people. The people there excrete defecation whenever they felt like doing so. For example, they excrete out side of their houses, on roads, or in river. As you visit those areas, you could probably see a lot of “unidentified material” flowing or land in river or roads. I am not kidding. Believe it or not?

Lifespan

Will I have a long term lifespan? Based on a research from Japan with the date in 2006, the Japanese males have the second longest lifespan in the world, whereas the Japanese females have the longest lifespan. Fortunately, people live in Hong Kong have the third longest lifespan. Accounting to the Japanese research, I name it as “the simple lifespan research,” the people who live in Iceland have the average lifespan 79.4 years old. This age is the longest lifespan in the world. Now I am confused why the crowded city Hong Kong will let people have longer lifespan? Maybe people live in there are very frustrated about working and working. This is a question I have to find out the answer.

toilet

Toilet, washroom, bathroom, restroom, men’s room or ladies’ room all have the same meaning. But why do we prefer to name them in different countries? Why toilets were created? How toilets were created? Who created it? And questions of when and what are what I wanted to ask. Therefore, I designed that picking toilets as my presentation should be helpful to me to understand toilet.

Having spent a long time to search for the information of toilet, I found out that the first toilet was created as early as 2500 BC. Incredible, huh? However, the statistic did not show that the our top economic countries, such as the United State or England, had toilets that time. Instead, India, Minoan, Crete, Egypt, Pharoahs, Persia, and ancient China have already created toilets to flush their dirty excretion out. At that moment, I wondered what the small would be in those countries where they had not created toilets. Would there be a lot of virus. Would there be producing any bad smell as human beings’ byproducts? Those were the questions I also wonder to know. Therefore, now I am better to search for those information.

Striking in Vancouver

I just read shucking news from the Internet today. A large group of 7000 logging and sawmilling workers are going to strike in this coming Saturday in British Columbia. They are striking for their personal benefits. Because International Forest Products Ltds. is giving the employees small contracts which may probably affect their working hours and severance pay, the employees strike against it.
Even though the striking must bring further disarray to the industry, I am satisfied with their actions because by striking legally, it shows that Canada is a free country. If one day I am an employee who is suffering bad treatment in Canada, I will know that I have the right to strike for my benefits.
On the other hand, I pity the industry company. As a boss or a company, they are definitely having the right to gain as many incomes as possible. However, when they are trying to start their action to their employees, the employees have already fought against them. I think serving strike notice is certainly invaluable for them. If one day I may become a boss, I must consider whether do business in Canada or not because of the freedom to Canadian employees in Canada.

o...no....I have difficulty writing chapter 8 essay. Should i write how tidal power works in the introduction paragraph first or in the bodies? How about I should write the advantages of this energy in the introduction paragraph first or not? sign...even though i have gathered numerous information about tidal power, i just suddenly did not know how to put them in an essay. Should i change the topic or try to write a draft first? Those are all my questions now. I think it is better to search for more information and then start writing. It may be the best way to do so...
Now I am better to write an essay; otherwise, I will be sleepy. So far, I believe it is the worst blog that I have written

A movie

I, having had a great expactation of harry potter, was disappointed of it. Today i went to watch this movie with my friend. Of course, buying popcorn, coke, icecappucino, chips and etc. are neccessary for watching a fantistic movie; however, the movie was actually boring to us. Spending almost three hours in the movie threater, I had fellen in sleep and one of my friend had not paying attention on the movie. In my point of view, this movie did not gave people a lot of wonderful magic, so did another people in the movie threater thought. After I left there, I heard some people talked about the movie. Some people said "I did not understand the movie." Now I suggest to bring a pillow before watching it, so you can enjoy the darkness and easukt full in sleep in the movie threatre.

A Calgary alderwoman is opposing the construction of a new, affordable housing tower downtown, saying the project would move too many low-income people into one building and could end up creating a ghetto.
The Mustard Seed, a non-profit group that feeds and houses the poor, plans to build a 28-storey complex that would include 365 affordable housing units in the Beltline at 10th Avenue and Centre Street.
But Ward 8 Ald. Madeleine King said the city should find other, smaller properties that could be used for affordable housing.
"Although we have a desperate situation at the moment, it's very important that when we deal with affordable housing, we need to design affordable housing in a way that people can be good neighbours," she said.
"If we don't get it right, then we set up a situation that is ripe for drugs [and] victimization of people who are easy to find … We also increase the possibility of NIMBYism."
Having too many units together could result in a ghetto system, she warned.

Bad Luck

It may be not a lucky day for me today. No longer I took a bus to school, I recognized that my pocket was broken; therefore, I lost all my coins on the floor. While I was taking them up, I saw a familiar route number just passed by me. Having thought of a few second, I remembered the bus that was actually the one that could take me school. In other word, I missed my bus, and I had to wait another extra 20 minutes for the next one.
Not only did my pocket was broken, but my schoolbag was stuck in a seat of the bus. Having spent almost ten minutes solving this problem, I finally gave up and took out my scissor to cut the filament. Because of that, a big whole was left in my schoolbag.
While I was walking my way to my class, a group of children were making a "great wall" blocking my way and making a great noise that I could not tolerate. I, consequently, chose another path to pass though those children avoiding any unnecessary fighting with them.

Naively thinking a bad luck day would be gone away before I went back home, I found out that I lost my key...

A Day in Library

Today I went to a library in University of Calgary. Commonly, at the front of the door always has a libel showing that no cell phone is allowed in the library. Definitely, the librarians do not want other people who are in the library to make a noisy. However, no longer I was there using a computer, I heard a big noise coming from my left hand side. When I turned my head and wonder what happen was going on, I saw a librarian was speaking so loud to person. Maybe the librarian was explaining some thing to the person, but I thought it was unacceptable to say out loud because it would disturb others people in the library. At that moment, I wanted to know why the librarian could not speak quietly but she did not allow someone who was speaking quietly in the phone. It seemed to me that she was not professional and she was kind of selfish.

Visit

Having heard of Japan is a good place to visit, I should find some times to travel Japan. My friend told me that the Japanese people are very nice to treat customers whether in airports and taxi stops. When my friend took an airplane to Japan, he had no room to leave his laptop because he brought a lot of baggage. However, a Japanese airhostess was very kind that she kept his laptop until he arrived to Japan. Unpredictably, the airhostess apologized to my friend because the laptop had fallen down on the floor during fly. Also, she was willing to fix the laptop immediately whether or not work.
After my friend took off from the plane, he was surprised by the Japanese taxi drivers. Because the Japanese drivers were very professional, customers were not allowed to open the taxi’s door and took their baggage to the taxi. Moreover, the taxi drivers would bow to every customer after they got off the taxi.
Maybe the polite attitude caused Japan a nice country to visit.

A Day

Today was a nice day that I off at 12:30p.m. because teachers were having a meeting after 12:30p.m. Even I did not have to take course after that time, I met Kallin to go library for studying and doing homework. Of course, it was no way for us without having a lunch first. Therefore, we quickly finished our lunch and did the thing that we liked the most, studying. I knew it sounded untrustworthy, but that was really what we want to do today. When we got to University of Calgary Library, we first tried to finish our Attending Lecture Project because it was supposed to hand in by next Monday. After finished typing our assignment, we both attempted to fix the others’ work. Neither Kallin nor I thought this was helpful for us to improve our English. Later, we two felt thirsty, so we went to buy some beverage; nonetheless, the beverage selling machines were disappeared. We, consequently, found the closest place to buy drinks. After I went back to the library and observed what the people were doing in the library, I saw most students were busy typing, while some other students were busy playing poker games in their laptops, watching news and chatting. And now, I am typing this blog for my second assignment.

No Fun

There was nothing fun at all doing homework alone. Today was the day before Monday. Because I had a group of assignment was still not finished, I had to stay at home and finish them. First, I reviewed what I had learned during this week. I found out that vocabularies were one of the problems that I was facing. Therefore, spent two hours to look up the words and tried to create some sentences by using the words. I hoped that by doing so, it would help me memorize those words. Later, I read what my instructors had told me to read. The reading was not quite long and I understood the meaning that the authors were trying to say. However, I still found something that I could learn from, such as sentence structure.

After I dropped down some sentences and high lighted some mean points from the articles, I moved on doing other homework. I took out the piece of white paper which was about simple tense. Fortunately, there were only a few questions there I had to answer. Consequently, I attempted to get them done as quickly as possible However, when I read the statement from the bottom of the page, it showed that students needed to write a paragraph of an essay based on other classmate’s idea. It was probably a bad news for me because I did not like writing. At that moment, I thought I needed a break, so I could recover my energy in order to keep working. In short, studying at home alone was boring.
